Using Microsoft technologies, we have developed and maintain ~150 web sites in markets including the US, UK, Europe, Asia and more. We require a hands-on developer with superior skills to take ownership of the ongoing search engine optimization of our websites. A successful candidate will have previous experience of implementing a wide range of SEO techniques across a disparate group of websites (content-based, product-based and data-based). The successful candidate will work closely with the other members of the development team and with a number of business and marketing representatives. The developer will work in a mix of classic ASP/VBscript environments to dotNet Framework 3.5 Part of the application and interview process will be a hands-on technical test, so please only respond if you meet or exceed the following requirements. Mandatory Skills & Experience A successful candidate should have strong exposure to ASP.NET, VB.NET, ASP, SQL, ADO, HTML, Javascript, XML, CSS and other common web technologies. Qualified individuals will have hands-on experience with the following skills: · Proven experience of implementing SEO strategies across content driven websites. · Demonstrable experience of developing data-driven public-facing websites in a fast-paced environment under tight time constraints. · 1+ Years commercial experience with ASP.NET / VB.NET · 2+ Years commercial experience of classic ASP. · Excellent HTML skills · Good communication skills with non-technical staff. Preferred Skills & Experience It would be beneficial if candidates were to have some or all of the following experience: · Experience of developing sites using CSS / XSLT. · Ability to adapt and work with someone else’s code. · Commercial experience of using VB & VB.NET to develop lightweight desktop administration solutions.
