This is a fantastic opportunity to join a major retailer, as a web designer joining their busy e-commerce team, responsible for a trading website with approximately half a million hits per day.
You will need to have a high level of web design and graphic skills, alongside knowledge within the multi channel department. On a daily basis, your key tasks will include:
- Developing & building content upon the brands website.
- Designing affiliate advertising banners to support the brands website.
- Managing a team of junior designers.
- nsuring all online creative & coding produced is on brand, accessible, useable & meets the best practice coding standards.
- Ensuring that the brand is reflected correctly online.
This position involves a natural flair for creative design as well as a strong knowledge of web design, and is vital that you are up to date with the latest developments and proactively pursue new technologies and design tools. You will be responsible for the look & feel of the website and associated marketing activity and must take account of the impact of design on site performance. An ability to find creative solutions that does not compromise site performance, accessibility or commercial objectives is vital.
You will need to be educated to degree level or equivalent in a creative discipline, with relevant experience in graphic and web design and the ability to produce artwork from initial brief right up to build. You will need a high skill level in the following programs:
- HTML, XHTML & CSS/CSS2.
- JavaScript & Flash.
- Photoshop & Dreamweaver.
